This time, for video #151, I’m gonna do something a bit different.
A few weeks ago, I decided to propose to my girlfriend.
Naturally, I had to include tech in my proposal because, um, I’m a nerd.
Well, you’ll just have to watch to find out what happened…
Most lighting these days uses LEDs. They’re super-low power, provide good light, and last a long time.
But you probably still have some fluorescent lights left.
If you’re like most people, you haven’t quite gotten around to replacing them with LED tubes. You really should replace them though since LED tubes use much less power than fluorescent ones.
The trouble is, it’s complicated. There many types of fluorescent fixtures and rewiring is often required.
So, how do you make it as easy as possible?
As regular viewers know, I’m a huge fan of LED flashlights and headlamps.
They’re bright, energy efficient, and just really cool.
Since my last review of LED lights is almost 2 years old, it’s time for an update.
You won’t believe how bright these things have become!
I’m not a big fan of WiFi, but I do use it from time to time.
It’s just convenient to use for some gizmos where an ethernet dongle is not supported.
Trouble is, I kept forgetting to turn off my WiFi router when I was done.
And then – two days later – I would discover I was still bombarding myself with magic 5 GHz death rays.
Not any more!!
If LED flashlights are great, LED headlamps are TOTALLY AWESOME!

These days, LED bulbs are all the rage – and that also now includes LED replacement tubes for fluorescent light fixtures. As of May 2017, these LED tubes are relatively new.
They are also frequently more complicated to install since you can’t always just swap the tube and fire it up.
When you factor in light output, power consumption, ease of installation, and cost, are they really worth it?
Ultimately, it depends… But this video will give you an idea of what to look for so you can make up your own mind!
