This time, for video #151, I’m gonna do something a bit different.
A few weeks ago, I decided to propose to my girlfriend.
Naturally, I had to include tech in my proposal because, um, I’m a nerd.
Well, you’ll just have to watch to find out what happened…

That’s all, folks!
Congrats!! Married people live longer …long lasting LOVE has that going for it…never go to sleep concerned or angry..talk it through…no secrets from each other..share funds or lack of. So pleased at your decision. MY self, hitched for 63 years, 2 children 4 grands and 3 greats. Now widowed, am still in love with him.
Aww, that’s lovely, Joan! Chu here. What an inspirational comment! We will keep it in mind, always. We already do all you suggested, and it’s been SO wonderful, we wouldn’t change it for the world! 63 years is a bit too ambitions for us in our 40s, but we do hope to live past 100 together, LOL! And, we’ll make every year count. Thank you for sharing!! It was very moving to read that you are still in love with your beloved husband. I’m sure he feels it wherever he is. <3
Hu-Rah and Congratulations to both of you! May the Art of Language and the Math of Science Break New Ground in the days ahead… Sincere Best Wishes for a long and Happy Life for the 2-of-you Together…
Chu here. Thank you GrandpaKen! That was super sweet!
CONGRADULATIONS! We hope for a lifetime of happiness together.
Scottie, I have a 3/8″ AT&T transmission line coming into my apartment unit that contains four twisted pair and eight independent wires within it. I figure the twisted pairs are for a Ethernet line but not 111%. Thing is that the tech that installed my router only used two of the four twisted pair. My WIFI is extremely crowded and slow. Paying for an AT&T service call is NOT going to happen! I understand and have the ability to make a 568B plug/outlet end but would like to split the service end to accommodate the three outlets in my apt unit. I will actively use only one outlet at any time but want all three functional. DIG? Would you please offer advise and clear any misunderstanding that I have about the main transmission line? Either way thank you for your time in viewing my inquiry.
If he used only 2 of 4 twisted pairs, then it’s probably an Ethernet connection running at 100Mbps. Theoretically, you could use the other 2 twisted pairs for 100Mbps Ethernet, but then that depends on if those 2 pairs go to the rest of the house or just back to the ISP’s central distribution point.
Scotty – I would not have expected any other way for you to propose – it was PERFECT!
I’m a following of your posts here in northeast Connecticut. I have no real knowledge of where on this planet you situated (I suspect France), but real love is the same no matter where we are.
I’m approaching the 30 year mark in my marriage. We met via a personal ad I had placed in the local marketing newspaper. Several phone calls and several tentative ‘meet in person’ dates it seemed like it wasn’t gonna happen. But she made the effort to respond so I figured I HAD to at least meet her. 31.5 years later we are still together.
Just remember one important thing that worked for us – you each are who you are. Trying to remake or change either just won’t work. You have to accept each other for what you are and learn how to live with the differences.
I wish you both the best.
Chu here: Aww, that’s a wonderful story, and a beautiful piece of advice, thank you, Ralph!!! We will always keep it in mind. So far, one of the most beautiful things has been exactly THAT: being 1+ 1 = 2, not 1/2 + 1/2. And being there for each other, rejoicing at the steps each of us makes, but because it’s who we each are, not out of wanting to change each other. It has been extremely fulfilling, and, if it worked so well for you, we must be doing something right! 😀
LOL — absolutely 100% nerd behavior. Grats to the two of you — and wishing you a long-lasting, healthy, and bug-free marraige.
Congratulations you crazy kids! A long, happy and productive life together for you.
🤵👰Congratulations! Your fiance is beautiful. You are a lucky techie. Thanks for also cracking me up 🤣 🤣
